Our

Martial Arts Program

In our Martial Arts program, your children will learn an array of techniques and skills that have been passed down through generations. Their instructor is a mixed martial arts champion who provides his students with not only expertise, but a welcoming and fun environment to learn and achieve.
September 2017- June 2018:
Kids Martial Arts Level 1 (Age:4-7) 

This kid’s class is mainly games focused to help Kids learn combat techniques without even realizing it. Ground work and transition techniques such as hold downs, easy take downs and grappling are added to this one hour class so that kids can burn off their ridiculous amounts of energy.

Time: Sunday. 12:45pm – 1:45pm

Price: Drop In $14/lesson, Montly $55/month, Yearly 450/school year ($45/month)

 Martial Arts Level 2 (Age: 7+) 

Kids in this class are old enough to learn more advanced ground techniques such as chokes. Muay Thai and Kick Boxing is added to begin a base for stand up techniques and more technical however still fun games are included to ensure everyone is having fun! 

Time: Thursday. 5:45pm – 7:15pm

Price: Drop In $20/lesson, Montly $75/month, Yearly 600/school year ($60/month)

Martial Arts Level 3(Age: 13+)

This is a standard class where all ages 13+ are welcome to join. Fighting styles included in OceanRain’s MMA style include Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Muay-Thai, Brazilian Jujitsu and Kick boxing.

Time: Sunday. 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Price: Drop In $20/lesson, Montly $75/month, Yearly 600/school year ($60/month)

Josh Van Meurs

Head Instructor

Also known as “JVMP”, Josh is a three-time youth professional pankration fighting world champion, Canadian Jujitsu national champion and North American youth mixed martial arts champion that holds a black belt in Judo and a blue belt in Brazilian Jujitsu. Over the years of dedicated training, Josh not only achieved his goals in Martial Arts, but also continuously works towards the best person he can be. Josh believes that: amusement only leads to downfall and self-destruction, never stop working towards a goal gets there quicker.
